East Village

Real estate offerings vary with the popularity of townhouses and low-rise walk-up apartment buildings lining most streets. Elevator buildings are spread throughout the area and doormen are not common. Subsequently, real estate prices and rents are generally affordable; lending the area to a younger demographic. Due to the lack of luxury doorman buildings, it is very difficult to find many homes for sale in the East Village that provide the amenities other neighborhoods can offer its residents.

The East Village offers several cultural features throughout the area, including museums, libraries, theaters and art galleries. The East Village also holds many yearly block parties and street festivals – something is always going on there. While the area has a surprising amount of green space, parks and child-friendly recreation, it’s also known for its high concentration of bars and some of the best selection of restaurants in all of Manhattan, including high-end and low-end and everything in between
