Carnegie Hill

The Carnegie Hill section of Manhattan has wonderful access to Central Park. These marvelous townhouses are rarely for sale because their owners are a bit reluctant in giving them up. Larger buildings house prewar apartments of six or seven rooms, known as “Classic Six” and “Classic Seven” but the light in the area is generous as even these marvelous co-ops are usually not too tall. This quiet and countrified area is a great place to build a family home.

Carnegie Hill had a feel of a grand village hidden in vintage fast passed setting. A walk on Carnegie offers elements of well kept brownstones and luxury buildings, which is truly a special section of the city. Shopping is varied; many local shopkeepers have been there for decades and know the residents by name. Carnegie Hill is home to the Guggenheim Museum, the Jewish Museum, and the 92nd Street Y, which offers a variety of arts and cultural programming.
